Our Services
Art Therapy
Art Therapy at Artwise is a professional, client-led therapy that uses creative expression to support emotional and mental wellbeing. Using a range of art materials and techniques, sessions are designed to help you process difficult emotions, explore your identity, build resilience, or simply find new ways to reflect and grow.
You don’t need any experience in art—just a willingness to be curious and open to the process. Sessions are guided by your needs and pace in a safe, non-judgemental space. Art therapy can be especially helpful for individuals experiencing:
Anxiety or depression
Disability or chronic illness
Carer fatigue or burnout
Life transitions or trauma
Neurodiversity, including ASD
Arts-based Support Work
Artwise offers a creative and therapeutic form of support work designed especially for NDIS participants who enjoy art, sensory expression, or simply want a more meaningful way to engage with the world around them. This service blends creativity, community connection, and emotional wellbeing into one flexible and personalised experience.
Liane works one-on-one with participants in a way that’s relaxed, responsive, and completely tailored. Activities might include:
Exploring painting, drawing, sculpture, or mixed media
Developing individual creative projects over time
Visiting art galleries or community events together
Creating handmade gifts, cards, or decorations for family or friends
Using art as a tool for self-expression, communication, or sensory engagement
Practicing mindfulness or routine-building through art-based rituals
Sessions can take place at home, in the community, or outdoors depending on what feels best for the participant. The aim is always to foster joy, connection, and self-expression—without pressure or expectation.
Group Work
As an Arts Psychotherapist, I design and facilitate group programs that are personally tailored to meet the unique needs of diverse communities. Whether working with professional support carers, schools, aged care settings, disability services, or broader wellbeing initiatives, my groups offer a safe and creative space for self-expression, emotional exploration, and resilience building.
Each program is crafted to align with the participants’ goals and context—whether that means reducing stress, strengthening coping skills, fostering teamwork, or enhancing emotional literacy. Using a blend of creative modalities such as visual arts, movement, and guided reflection, I support participants to connect with themselves and others in meaningful ways, promoting growth, transformation, and overall wellbeing.

FAQs
-
Not at all! You don’t need to be an artist or even feel creative. Art therapy is about the process, not the product. It’s about using materials in a way that helps you explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences—whatever that looks like for you.
-
Each session is guided by your needs and comfort level. We usually begin with a relaxed chat to check in, followed by the option to create using different art materials—like drawing, painting, collage, or sculpture. You can choose to reflect on your artwork afterwards or just focus on the experience itself. There’s no pressure, and everything is taken at your pace.
-
Art therapy can support a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges, including:
Anxiety, stress, or depression
Grief and loss
Carer burnout
Trauma and life transitions
Disability and neurodivergence (including ASD)
Identity and self-esteem
It’s also a great space for self-exploration, reflection, and personal growth.
-
Yes. If you’re an NDIS participant, you may be able to access art therapy or arts-based support work through your plan, depending on your goals and support categories. I’m happy to talk through how this might work for you and assist with invoicing or planning.
-
Art Therapy is a targeted, professional therapeutic service where we use creative processes to support emotional wellbeing, resilience, and mental health. It’s facilitated by a registered Art Therapist (that’s me!).
Arts-Based Support Work is more informal and focused on creativity, social engagement, and community access. It’s ideal for NDIS participants who enjoy being creative and want support in exploring art in a fun, supported way—while still benefiting from the emotional regulation and confidence-building that art can offer.
-
Artwise is a mobile service—I come to you! Sessions can take place in your home, a community venue, or even outdoors if that’s your preference. This flexibility helps ensure you feel comfortable, safe, and supported in the space that works best for you.
-
Yes. Just like any professional therapeutic service, everything you share in an art therapy session is kept private and confidential, unless there is a legal or safety concern. Your privacy and trust are taken very seriously at Artwise.
